What We Did

What we used:

  • James Hardie® fiber cement siding
  • Sherwin Williams® Resilience paint

This customer came to us when their wood siding was no longer holding paint and there were areas where the wood siding was beginning to rot.

After meeting with a project consultant, this home owner decided that the best thing for their home would be to replace the siding with a material that required little maintenance but still looked like wood. That is why this customer chose James Hardie® fiber cement siding.

After removing the siding we wrapped the house with Tyvek® house wrap. Then we installed the pre-primed Hardi plank fiber cement clapboards. We also replaced some rotting fascia corners.

After installing the siding, we painted the house with Sherwin Williams® Resilience paint.

What We Did

  • Power-wash the exterior with mildew remover
  • Feather-sand loose and flaky stain
  • Stained wood with Cabot® Semi-solid stain

This home in Methuen MA was in dire needs for a new finish. The home owners were not quite ready to replace the wood but wanted to preserve the rustic look.

First our painters started with the surface preparation for the project. We did a special restoration wash on the entire exterior with bleach and mildew remover. Then we caulked and puttied all the gaps, cracks and siding seams. Later, we feather sanded all areas that had loose or flaking stain.

We then applied two coats of Cabot® Semi-solid, oil based, new cedar stain to the entire home including soffit, fascia, windows and door frames. Our painters sprayed this oil-based stain to the surface so it would penetrate the wood and hold for a long time. This type of oil based stain will also keep the wood from curling.

Here is what the finished home looks like. As a local painting contractor, we were able to make such a difference in this home's exterior!

What We Did

Fiber Cement Siding and Exterior Painting

  • James Hardie fiber cement pre-primed cedarmill clapboards
  • PVC trim
  • New Seamless Gutters
  • Blown insulation
  • Tyvek House wrap

This customer called us when they realized their home was in desperate need of some updating. The siding was well over 100 years old. They had worked with fiber cement in the past and knew the installation procedure was unique and difficult. They sought us out based on our repuation as the most qualified fiber cement installer in New England.

The paint was no longer sticking to the wood siding of this colonial house, and the customer ran a day car at the property so they wanted it to have a new fresh inviting look.

We began this project by removing the old siding. We wrapped the home with Tyvek house wrap to protect it from the elements.

Then we installed new James Hardie fiber cement clapboards at a 4" exposure. We installed new PVC corner boards and created new quoins on the 4 corners of the home to keep the character of the colonial house.

After replacing the trim, we painted the home with Sherwin Williams paint. We also installed a new front door with side lites.

The customer said "Every aspect of the job done to customer's satisfaction. Most responsive team of workers we've ever encountered... What a God send! Thank you so much!"

What We Did

  • Removed all old peeling clapboards and trim
  • Replaced all trim with PVC
  • Replaced clapboards with James Hardie clapboards
  • Painted house

"Chain of Referrals"-This very large colonial house built in 1986 is located in a nice neighborhood in Andover MA. The original clapboards were not of the best quality and were causing paint problems.

The owners of the house decided to look into the possibility of replacing the siding. They knew they didn't want to even consider vinyl siding because they didn't care for the look. This left them considering wood siding vs. fiber cement siding. Another factor that was very important to them was re-sale value and recouping the cost of new siding.

During our consultation we explained to the customer that the cost of high quality wood clapboard is greater than the cost of Fiber Cement clapboard. We further explained that James Hardie siding comes with a 50 year product warranty and will hold paint for 20 years. To address the cost vs. value issue we provided documentation that showed fiber cement siding replacement had the number one payback for a home improvement project.

After viewing several houses in the area that we had done with fiber cement they were ready to have us transform their house. We removed and disposed of all the old clapboards and wood trim. We thoroughly inspected the sheathing (plywood underlayment) for any rot or insect infestation.

Next we installed Tyvek HomeWrap®. All the trim was replaced with maintenance free PVC trim. The new clapboard siding was installed to a 4 inch reveal. Finally the house was thoroughly caulked and painted with two coats.

While we were working on this house a neighbor down the street who is a realtor saw what we were doing and ended up hiring us to install new Fiber Cement Siding on her house. Several months later she referred us to a client in Arlington who just bought a house through her. We replaced their roof and installed Fiber cement siding. We are ready for the next referral to keep the chain going!

What We Did

  • James Hardie® pre-primed cedar mill siding
  • Cellular PVC trim
  • Cultured Stone
  • Exterior Painting: Sherwin Williams®
  • Roofing: CertainTeed® 30-year 3-tab algae-resistant shingles

This home in North Andover, Massachusetts was ready for a remodel makeover when we first saw it in 2006. The wood siding was original to the house, and was no longer holding paint. The roof’s life had run its course. And, although this home had plenty of character already, the homeowner was looking for a little something more. They knew that a project like this would require an experienced, professional roofer and siding contractor to get the job done right and they did not want to have to manage multiple contractors themselves. We were ready to take this job on, and exceed the homeowner’s expectations. In the end, we did just that-read on, and see if you agree.

First things first-the roof. This roof needed to be replaced, and fast! As a roofing contractor, this roof was fairly straightforward for us. We stripped the one layer of asphalt shingles that had been on the roof, and replaced some rotted sheathing. We re-shingled the roof with CertainTeed® 30 year 3-tab algae resistant shingles. Customer Comment “Excellent work on roof. Fast, neat, hardworking crew.”

After finishing up the roof, we moved on to replacing the siding. The cedar siding on the house was the original siding. It was rotted and no longer holding paint. It was time to find a long lasting solution. The homeowner appreciated that we are a siding contractor with multiple siding options.

The homeowner decided to use James Hardie® fiber cement siding. We stripped all of the old siding, and used Tyvek® wrap to protect their home from the elements. We then installed the pre-primed cedar mill James Hardie® siding. We also replaced the trim boards, fascia, and soffits with Azek TrimBoards®.

After all the installation was complete, we finished by painting the house. We used Sherwin-Williams® Duration Brand paint to give the longest lasting protection. Our painters specialize in finishing fiber cement siding.

To finish this home's transformation, we installed cultured stone on the homeowner's farmer's porch. They chose the Old Country Fieldstone style to give it that classic country look.
