What We Did

  • Removed and Replaced all sheathing
  • Install Rolled Batt Insulation
  • Installed James Hardie Sierra 8 siding
  • Installed Cellular PVC trim
  • Painted with Sherwin Williams Resilience Paint
  • Simonton Geometric Windows

This 1970's contemporary style home in Groton, Massachusetts was in need of some serious care. The customers had recently purchased the home knowing there was a good chance the old siding would need to be replaced, and insulation would need to be installed.

They were in need of a siding installer, painter, and someone to insulate the walls. They were thrilled to know that we could handle all facets of the project.

We first removed the T-111 vertical panel siding that was delaminating and rotting in many places. As siding contractors in Massachusetts we are experienced in removing all types of siding from Cedar clapboard, to aluminum siding, to asphalt shingle siding and everything in between. In this case the siding was also acting as the sheathing, so the homeowner thought it'd be a good opportunity to insulate the walls.

We added R-13 rolled batt insulation to all areas and then installed new plywood sheathing. We then wrapped the house with a moisure barrier, Tyvek® Homewrap.

The customers wanted to maintain the charming look of their woodsy home so we recommended James Hardie vertical panel Sierra-8 siding. This fiber cement siding product is designed to look like vertical cedar or T-111 panel.

To complement their new low-maintenance siding, we installed low maintenance cellular PVC trim.

Some of the siding rot had spread to 2 of the windows. Our window installers replaced those 2 geometrical shaped windows with Simonton vinyl windows in the color driftwood to match the color scheme.

This recently married Groton, ma couple customers are very happy with their beautiful new home. They were thrilled to find a siding company, painters, and window installers, all under one local contractor. They recently commented how well their newly insulated home held the heat during a lengthy power outage.

What We Did

  • Removed and Replaced all Exterior Cedar Siding
  • Interior Painting on New Window Trim
  • Installed James Hardie Select Cedar Mill
  • Installed Cellular PVC trim
  • Painted with Sherwin Williams Resilience Paint
  • Simonton Generations Window

This 1990's Cape Cod style home in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts was in need of some serious care. The cedar siding was installed originally and after only 15 years has been painted over three times and was in need of another paint job.

The customers were fed up with the continual cycle of scrape paint and repeat. They wanted a more permanent low maintenance solution but did not want the low quality look of vinyl siding. The goal was to achieve the beauty and look of real wood, without using ugly vinyl and still getting low maintenance siding.

The other problem was windows that did not insulate. They were thrilled to know that as a local contractor, United could handle all facets of the project providing exactly what they needed in low maintenance siding and thermal efficient replacement windows.

We first removed the cedar clapboard siding that was not holding paint. As local siding contractors in Massachusetts, we are experienced in removing all types of siding, from Cedar clapboard to aluminum siding, from asphalt shingle siding to asbestos siding, and everything in between.

After wrapping the house with a wind and moisture barrier, Tyvek® Homewrap, we were able to maintain the original character and charm by replicating the original architecture of the property.

The customers wanted to maintain the charming look of their Cape Cod style home, so we recommended James Hardie fiber cement siding in clapboard select cedar mill. This fiber cement siding product is designed to look like natural cedar siding without the heavy maintenance that follows.

We are also painting contractors, so the final field finishing of the property gave the house an unmistakably wood look, yet requires the very low-maintenance of a light power washing every few years.

To complement their new low-maintenance siding, we installed low maintenance cellular PVC trim. This trim, sometimes referred to as Azek trim Boards or Tuff Board, is designed to look like a smooth fresh milled piece of high quality pine. To achieve the look the customers were after, we used decorative trim with some contoured detail that really finished the house.

As a Massachusetts window installer, we were able to provide very affordable replacement windows made by Simonton. We even used a special geometric-shaped window over the porch to maximize the cathedral ceiling in the living space. Our window installers replaced the geometrical-shaped window as well as all the energy efficient vinyl replacement windows in the house to maximize their home insulation.

This Shrewsbury, MA couple is very happy with their beautiful new home. They were thankful their neighbor recommended such a full service contracting company. They were thrilled to find a siding company, painters, and window installers all under one local contractor. They recently commented how well their thermal energy efficient windows reduced their heating costs. They said United is their favorite local contractor and would recommend us as a quality Massachusetts contractor.

What We Did

  • Hardie Plank® 5 ¼” Cedarmill
  • Azek® Tuffboard
  • Cellular PVC trim
  • Simonton Generations®
  • Seamless Gutters
  • New Vinyl Shutters

This homeowner had multiple jobs that needed to be done to the house and decided to do them all at once. They were in seach of a contractor that had specialized painters, siding installers, and window installers. For one, they had 11 windows and a sliding glass patio door that needed to be replaced.

They also wanted to replace their wood siding that was discolored and was beyond power washing or painting over.

We began this job by removing the existing windows and window trim and installed new Simonton Generations® triple pane replacement windows with white exterior and wood interior.

We also removed the sliding glass door on the patio and replaced it with a Simonton Generations® slider.

We then removed all the existing siding and wrapped the home in Tyvek® wrap to further protect the house. The homeowners wanted to re-side the house with a material that would last a long time so they wouldn't be bringing in a painter every 2 years. They also wanted the look of wood, so they chose Hardie Plank Cedarmill 5 ¼" siding.

We also installed 9 pairs of new vinyl shutters, installed new seamless gutters, replaced the flashing, soffits and fascia. Then our painters finished the job by painting the house with Sherwin Williams® paint.

The customers were very impressed, not only with the quality of work we did, but also with the customer service they received. "I am very impressed with your crew; talented and hardworking! I liked that I was asked how I wanted certain things done and then given options and helpful explanations from the crew. We will be calling in the near future to arrange for an interior job!!!"
